WDXD is a station that exists mostly because I am stubborn and was bored after having to retire at age 46.
Here is the present on air set-up, It is designed around my visual disability, hence the monitor placement.
Left to right: Two DENON CD players, courtesy of Andy. V-89 did an upgrade and Andy was able to get them.
The computer is an old Gateway running Windows 98 and Zara radio automation. Monitor is one my grandson Daniel had.
The box behind those is an older stereo used as an amp to power the monitor speakers on the wall.
Mic is Sennheiser 421. That little boom was donated by a friend.
Arrakis ARC-8 bought new in 2011.
Radio Shack Optimus mixer in back for additional inputs into the Arrakis mixer
Turntables and a CD player all share pot 5.
There is a guest mic on pot 2. AKG brand.
I have actually had several musicians stop in for interviews and then performed live on the air. Apparently a few people in Nashville are aware that WDXD exists.
Right side, top to bottom: Stanton double CD/mp3 player (bought in 2018)
Marantz CD player – courtesy of Andy.
Kenwood double deck cassette record/play deck – donated by Erwin O’Conner, a radio friend, in 2018. Used to record interviews, airchecks, etc.
Bottom: An RCA CD carousel – not used on air but could be a CD player in a pinch.
Far right; Two Gemini XL-120 turntables. I bought them together around 2004.
